Robert Armstrong, LCADC, Director/Clinician

Robert Armstrong earned a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology in 1981. He was certified in Maryland as well as nationally as an alcoholism counselor in 1992 and was also approved as a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor the same year. In 2002, Mr. Armstrong was granted his license as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

Mr. Armstrong has been in the field of addictions for 30 years working in clinical settings as well as employee assistance programs. He served as counselor at the Baltimore County Health Department, later taking a position at Bethlehem Steel as their EAP Coordinator. For 10 years he was Coordinator of Addictions Services at Spring Grove Hospital Center and specialized in the treatment of the mentally ill substance abuser. He has spent the last 7 years providing addiction services to adolescents at the Howard County Health Department, Mountain Manor Treatment Center and for The Department of Juvenile Services. He has provided clinical supervision to staff at Howard County and DJS.

In 1988 Mr. Armstrong, with a partner were approved by the Alcoholism Control Administration and the Motor Vehicle Administration as a DWI education program.

In 1993 the treatment component was added making the program fully accredited as an outpatient treatment facility.
